For someone who was meant to be working on their master's degree thesis while simultaneously being part of a popular girl group, Minji sure did seem to have a lot of free time on her hands. Or maybe she was just really, really good at time management. That may have been the case, too. Whatever the reason, she had found herself alone in the dorm while the others were busy doing something-or-other, and that had led to her doing a bit of cleaning up around her room and workspace. She had a habit of getting ahead of herself, and her desk area in particular was always scattered and messy - that, and her wardrobe, which desperately needed to be re-organised.

She'd worked on it for a while, starting with the desk and working her way round, but in the end, she never quite finished the wardrobe on account of what she found inside of it - dusty and hidden under a pile of summer clothes was an English version of Monopoly, one which Min had brought back with her from New Zealand. She hadn't even remembered bringing it with her to the dorms, but then again, her mother had ensured that she auditioned pretty soon after returning to Korea, so it didn't surprise her too much to find it there. How had it been that she hadn't played it at all since her trainee days? Maybe she had, but she'd forgotten?

At any rate, it didn't matter - what mattered was that she'd found it, and she knew exactly who she was going to play it with. Of course, who else but Juno? He did speak English, after all, so there was no need to worry about translations or anything else - not that Monopoly didn't exist in Korea, but the point remained that with everything in English, it certainly wouldn't be easy for a non-English speaker, nor would it be very fun.

And so Minji had forgotten all about cleaning the rest of her wardrobe (because, you know, priorities, grabbed Monopoly, written a note for the other girls to let them know she was going to be out for a few hours, and headed out on her merry way. Of course, the intention had been only to play for a few hours, but that was the funny thing about Monopoly that Min had clearly forgotten - it was near impossible to finish a game within only a few hours, especially if there were only two people playing.

And that was how she found herself waking up, spread out on the floor next to the monopoly board - because it was much easier to spread it out that way than on a table, wasn't it? - mildly confused as to how she'd gotten there until she started to remember the seven-and-a-half-hour-long Monopoly game that had ensued the night before and well into the early morning.

It wasn't exactly a normal situation for Juno, but then again normal was never a proper adjective when it came to Hae Minji. From the outside, she appeared to be a beautiful star with a great voice, and affable presence--and if that was the truth of the matter, it would have been much more difficult for Juno to become close to her. He found himself paralyzed by most pretty idol faces, and the same was with her until he got to know her.

The end result? She had almost even invited herself over to play a game of monopoly. And if he didn't enjoy her company, he would have made an excuse; instead, he had gotten everyone out of the dorm for the night. Only lord knows what would happen if Doyoon or Deul found out.

What Juno didn't expect was seven hours later and she'd be sprawled out on the floor asleep, leaving at an impasse of what to do. The idol was too afraid to check the time, and instead just tried to figure out a polite way to wake her up and get her out of the house before headlines were made about 'Hae Minji leaving the dorm of Generation Mania early in the morning!'

As he inched towards her, she looked too precious, and he slightly whispered, "Minji..." He was met with no response. A minute later, he even poked her shoulder, "Minji-ah..." The prospect of touching her while she slept made him nervous, as well as just observing her in this state. She mumbled but stayed asleep. "I'll let her rest for a bit." he told himself as he sat on the floor, leaning against the couch. She looked pretty, and he smiled at how much of a mess she looked--a peaceful mess.

And at some point of waiting ten or twenty minutes for her to rest a bit, did he fall asleep and wake to the like peaking through the blinds. His groggy eyes struggled to take in the scene around him, and even his mind lagged behind. "Why am I here?" Juno mused, pulling himself into a sleeping position, realizing he fell asleep in an awkward spot against the couch. He traced the surroundings of the room, still lost as to where the rest of his band was or why they let him sleep here until he caught the imagine of Minji still on the floor, apparently already awake.

Juno's eyes widened, "W-wait! Minji-ah! Why are you still here?!"

Minji was... a little different. Not bad different, but nonetheless, she just didn't quite think the same way as many other individuals her own age. Perhaps it was because of her intelligence level, or perhaps it was merely because she'd always been bound to be just a little bit odd. Regardless, she was the way that she was, and she wouldn't apologise for it - partially because there was nothing to apologise for, and partially because she generally didn't seem to realise how different or strange and awkward she could really be from time to time.

That was the case with people who thought certain ways; they couldn't just suddenly start thinking in a different way. That was just how individual brains functioned, and besides, if every brain functioned exactly the same way, wouldn't life be boring?

The correct answer to that question was yes, it would be. Hence Min's fairly random and last minute decision to more or less appear uninvited to a friend's dorm in order to play a game of monopoly (well, okay, she'd at least asked and gotten permission first - she wasn't completely socially inept). Of course, the irony lay in the fact that while she was enough of a genius to solve difficult maths problems in a matter of minutes or even seconds on the first try, she didn't seem to realise that going to the dorm of a boy group in the evening and leaving early in the morning probably wasn't exactly the most intelligent decision in the world. Such was the way of Hae Minji - she thought of all the rational things except for when common sense was involved, within which she occasionally seemed to be rather lacking.

Anyway, she hadn't planned on sleeping on the floor - even she knew better than that. It was just the accumulation of one too many late nights in the university's lab, assumably. It was far too easy for Min to get overexcited about a project or some research, and as a result she'd go hours upon hours working on it with complete tunnel-vision, hardly able to think of anything else (for example, sleeping or eating, both of which she did actually enjoy immensely). Regardless, in this situation, it hadn't fully been intentional, but rather had been one of those overtired, badly made decisions in which one thinks, 'Oh, I should just rest my eyes for a moment -' and then immediately, they're asleep without a second thought. Minji had been dead to the world at that point, with hardly a chance of being woken up by anything gentle or quiet - in other words, precisely how Juno had attempted it.

Even when she had eventually woken, it was a while yet before she was fully conscious and aware of her surroundings. Juno's voice only filled her with further confusion as she began to try to piece together her thoughts and her surroundings. She turned her head to blink at him in surprise, mumbling sleepily,

"Huh?"

Not the most eloquent thing that she'd ever said, perhaps, but she was tired and not fully awake. Even a genius could lack proper diction on a sleep-hungry brain. Nonetheless, she pushed herself up into a sitting position, rubbing her eyes blearily and looking much like a toddler that'd been woken up from a nap too soon - at that moment, no one would have known that she was in her mid-twenties. Her eyes then averted to the monopoly board, and through a yawn, she enquired, "Who won?" It didn't look like the game had even been finished, but she genuinely couldn't remember... had she sleep-played through the last few rounds before finally submitting to the will of her body and allowing a nap?

While Minji struggled about, Juno was already at the front door, trying to recall the number of shoes missing. He then hurried over to a window, to look out onto the streets below. There was nothing to gain short of hoping to catch sight of the group walking the street, but the panic in Juno convinced him it was worth a shot to look. All he saw were sparsely placed cars on the street, and a few nameless people walking. The window didn't even face the entrance to the complex, so there was nothing to gain from the effort.

Juno then peaked down the hall, looking for open doors or any signs of his band members having returned. Doyoon had been ousted by Deul last month for having a half-naked woman in their confines, and this wasn't as drastic: but he still feared the paparazzi and their potential to generate false reports. Was Generation Mania even popular enough to garnish that much attention from reporters?

It seemed clear, but he was still fidgeting with an anxious tingle in his limbs; his heart continued to punch his ribcage from the adrenaline. She asked, and he breathed once before replying, "I... can't remember. I think you knocked some of the pieces around when you were asleep." He harshly rubbed his face with both hands, trying to think of a good situation, "You're so stupid, Joon. So stupid. How did you fall asleep?!"

"Wait, I know! I'll tell them we both got food poisoning, and with the band out of the apartment, we couldn't get to the phone to contact anyone. Yes, that's perfect." he concluded with a confident expression. It melted almost seconds later, "I'm an even bigger idiot for considering that..."

Deflated, Juno fell back onto the couch, unsure of himself and his life. The tiny voice in the back of his head cried that he was being overdramatic and it was just morning weariness, but it couldn't be heard over the doubts. Hopeless, he hung his head back into the cushion with his eyes glued to the ceiling, and groaned pleasantries, "How did you sleep?"

Academically speaking, Minji was a genius, yes. But with great intelligence came great responsibility - and a distinct lack of common sense, so it seemed. At this point, it was to be expected from anyone that knew her well enough, but for those who didn't, well, it was more than a little bit shocking to see how much of an airhead the girl with the 165 IQ could be.

Particularly in instances such as this.

Min watched in mild interest as Juno seemed to run about the house, going out toward the front door, then the corridors, even the window... what was he doing? The initial confusion faded and was replaced by newer, more relevant questions: What was going on in that mind of his, and why was he going around the dorm like a chicken with its head cut off? All right, so maybe that was an overstatement, but the idea still stood. Something was off. He seemed stressed. Even Minji could tell that much.

He answered her question, though, in spite of his scatterbrained appearance, and rubbed his face anxiously afterward. What was bothering him? She'd ask, but first things first - "Oh, that's too bad. It'll have to be a draw, then." That was the down side of playing Monopoly. It was all fun and games until it had been 8 hours and all had been forgotten, the game never finished... or until a friendship was ruined and the board thrown across the room. Either way, it was rare for a game to finish, and for the participants to be on good terms. At least they'd fallen asleep before finishing it (assumably). Minji would have hated to be the cause of a dissipated friendship.

Though, now that she'd mostly woken up, there were more pressing matters at hand than an unfinished Monopoly game. Min watched as Juno collapsed onto the couch, leaning backward with the same restless, uneasy demeanour that he'd had for at least the past few minutes (that she'd noticed). Slowly, Min began to pick up the pieces that had been scattered, packing up the board game in a leisurely way as she shrugged and answered Juno's question - "Like a rock... sorry for that, by the way. I guess I pulled one too many all nighters at the lab." Or it was a combination effect of that and work... she honestly hadn't felt like she'd done too much, but her body seemed to beg to differ. "So, when are you going to tell me what's bothering you? Did you lose something?" That could be the first assumption, based on his looking around everywhere. She'd noticed, of course. She noticed everything, and yet simultaneously, nothing. She was both astute and unaware; a walking paradox, in many ways. She didn't look at him while she asked; she merely continued to pick up the game, piece by piece, almost in her own little world, or at least appearing to be.

Juno felt the grip of stress, and in most cases, what Minji said would only tighten that grip. However, with her, her ignorance was almost a charming point. She often lived at two ends of the spectrum: bright and daft. She could probably name the mineral composition of most rocks beneath their feet with an eye and a tongue (which Juno found odd), but would be the one to look up if you mentioned to her that a joke "went over your head." Infuriating at times, but endearing.

So he didn't get angry. When she threw down her (probably unintentional) geology pun, he chuckled abruptly, rubbing his eyes with his palms before looking down towards her. She wasn't very lady-like in most regards, but she did look pretty even after sleeping "like a rock." "That's good, I guess. A silver lining." he said, the second part of his response in English.

"It's... nothing. I'm just being-" Juno responded, eyes locked onto her fingers as he surveyed the board to put up the pieces. He stopped suddenly, eyes shooting back down the hall, "Minhyuk!" No response. "Doyoon!" No response. He winced a little afraid of a wail from his next beckoning, "D-Deul..?" Thankfully, no response. So they weren't here, that was relieving at least.

Juno returned his attention back to Minji, "It's nothing... I'm fine." Launching himself up from the couch, he walked behind the kitchen bar, and called out to her while fumbling through cupboards, "You want anything to eat? Drink? Coffee?" He had surrendered to the inevitable and just tried to manage to be normal. Minji was doing that so well, so why shouldn't he? Nothing happened... right?
